We are now offering grants to bring a camp to your community!
Abilities in Harmony is offering grants to communities interested in bringing an adaptive show choir camp to their students. Through detailed information documents recommending procedures for successful camps and consultation with our camp and organization directors, our program for grantees makes it simple to bring the joy of show choir to deserving children.
Grants can be used for camp t-shirts, meals and/or snacks served, venue rental, games and toys, and any other items needed to successfully and safely hold a camp.
Grantees will have access to a Google Drive shared folder including sample emails to performers and volunteers and specific details and instructions to run a successful camp. Abilities in Harmony directors will also be available for video, email, and phone meetings to help plan the camps and answer any questions.

Grantees will receive up to $750 to be used to start a new adaptive show choir camp in your local community. Funding recipients will receive an amount based on the number of participating students at $50 per performer up to a maximum $750. This grant is intended to fully fund a camp of up to 15 performers participating. Funding will be provided for up to three years with funding decreasing to a maximum of $500 in the second year and a maximum of $250 in the third year.
Abilities in Harmony started in the La Crosse area to provide show choir camps to middle and high school students that would not ordinarily have an opportunity to sing, dance, and perform on stage. We quickly began receiving requests from other communities to bring this opportunity to their area, and because of our passion for the mission, we made every effort to bring the camps to as many communities in the Midwest as we could. While we have had many impactful interactions outside of the La Crosse area, the impacts of COVID-19 and external demands on our directors has led the board of directors to change the scope of the organization to provide programming only in the Twin Cities and the La Crosse community and limit our support in other regions.
We are hopeful that communities we have partnered with previously or had plans to partner with in the future will continue to look for ways to make show choir available to EVERYONE!
Grant applications are reviewed on rolling basis. Please submit your application at least 6 weeks prior to your camp.
